LEADERSHIP AND VOLUNTEERING AT THE BASE
At the BASE I helped with paperwork, organizing activities, setting things up, and just helping things stay organized overall. A lot of what I did was behind the scenes, but it showed me how much work goes into keeping everything running smoothly. From this experience I learned more about responsibility, communication, and being dependable in a fast paced environment where people are counting on you to help wherever needed.
EXPERIENCE AT THE BASE
Being at the BASE also made me reflect on my own experience as an athlete and all the people behind the scenes who help make sports environments run smoothly. Since I’ve played sports for so long, it gave me a different perspective seeing everything from the other side and understanding how much effort goes into supporting athletes and creating a positive environment. It made me appreciate the importance of teamwork off the field too and showed me how strong communities can be built through sports, support, and leadership.
